In the quaint village of Perumukil, located in the Tindivanam taluk of Vilupuram District, lives Mr. Dhanush, a man who has faced significant challenges due to severe orthopedic disabilities. For a long time, Dhanush and his family struggled without a stable income, relying heavily on the support of family members to meet their daily needs. The lack of financial independence was a constant source of stress and hardship for Dhanush and his loved ones.

However, a beacon of hope emerged when the Tamil Nadu Differently-abled Federation Charitable Trust (TNDFCT) identified Dhanush’s potential and determination. Recognizing his dire need for economic empowerment, TNDFCT, with the generous support of Ford Motors Pvt Limited, stepped in to transform his life.

As part of their mobile cart livelihood support project, TNDFCT provided Dhanush with a mobile cart and working capital support of Rs. 10,000. This funding was earmarked for procuring merchandised products and setting up a small business. Additionally, Dhanush received entrepreneurial training to equip him with the necessary skills to run a petty shop effectively.

With the newfound support and resources, Dhanush and his wife decided to set up a small tiffin shop. Utilizing the mobile cart, they began selling a variety of snacks and meals to the local community. Their tiffin shop quickly gained popularity, and they started generating a daily revenue of about Rs.2000. This translated to a daily profit of Rs.500 to Rs.750, a substantial improvement their previous situation.

Today, Mr.Dhanush is not only financially independent but also a proud supporter of his family. The success of his tiffin shop has brought stability and happiness to his household. Dhanush’s journey from dependency to independence is a testament to his resilience and hard work, combined with the timely intervention and support from TNDFCT and Ford Motors Pvt Limited.
